Terms of Service
For people who use Gathr.
About Gathr
Gathr is operated by Tamenang Choh and helps people discover, create and join events and connect with others. For questions, contact tamenang@thegathrapp.com. These Terms take effect when published by the operator.
Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 16 years old to use Gathr. Keep account information accurate and protect access to your account. You are responsible for activity through your account.
Permission to provide the service
You retain ownership of your content. You must own or have all necessary rights and permissions to upload it and allow Gathr to use it as described here. By submitting content, you grant Gathr a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, process and display it, including through our service providers, solely to operate Gathr’s event, profile, messaging, Stories and safety features for the audiences allowed by the service. This permission covers retained shared history and restricted safety evidence as described in the Privacy Policy.
Your content and conduct
You are responsible for content you submit and events you host. Share only content you own or are authorized to share. Do not post illegal, harmful, threatening or harassing content; impersonate others; spam users; or violate privacy or intellectual-property rights. Inappropriate sexual content, graphic sexual content, and prolonged graphic or sadistic violence are prohibited.
Events and interactions
Events are hosted by users. Gathr does not organize, control or guarantee user-hosted events or user conduct. Use good judgment and appropriate safety precautions when meeting others. Direct messages and group/event chats follow app permissions and membership. Public/private event and Story access follow the current access rules.
Reporting and blocking
Use the in-app report and block tools to raise concerns and restrict interactions. For concerns outside the app, contact tamenang@thegathrapp.com. Reports and inquiries are monitored daily, with a target initial response within 24 hours. This is an initial-response target, not a guarantee of resolution within that time.
Enforcement
We may investigate reports and restrict accounts or remove content that violates these Terms or harms the community. Reports may require investigation, and action or resolution may take longer than the target for an initial response.
Map services
The iOS build prepared for public release uses native Apple MapKit search and Apple Maps display. Apple map features are subject to the applicable Apple service terms. Earlier beta versions used Google Places. Use of those earlier Google Maps features and content is subject to the then-current Google Maps End User Additional Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy. The iOS map display uses Apple’s map services.
Permissions and information
Optional device permissions enable relevant features. Location-dependent features have reduced functionality without permission. The Privacy Policy explains the information processed for accounts, contacts, events, messages, media, location, notifications and telemetry.
History and account deletion
You can request account deletion through Settings. Cleanup is asynchronous. Historical events, shared chats and safety evidence may remain as explained in the Privacy Policy. Ending an event or hiding a list entry does not by itself delete its stored history.
